Wilmington, CA - One Hospitalized After LAPD Pursuit Crash on Pacific Coast Highway

Wilmington, California (August 10, 2026) - One person was taken to the hospital Monday night after a Los Angeles Police Department pursuit ended in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway. Police said the chase ended in a two-car collision.

Officers tried to stop a stolen 2014 Hyundai sedan around 8:33 p.m. near the 300 block of Pacific Coast Highway. About a minute into the pursuit, the sedan crashed into a Chevrolet SUV near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Fries Avenue.

Both vehicles suffered major front-end damage in the collision, according to footage from the scene. Police blocked off the intersection to investigate.

It is not yet clear whether anyone has been arrested. The exact number of people in each vehicle at the time of the crash has not been released.
