A pedestrian was killed in a crash on Quinn Circle in West Hills on September 2, 2026, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The investigation is ongoing.

West Hills, California (September 2, 2026) - A pedestrian was killed in a crash in the West Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.
The crash was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the 22100 block of Quinn Circle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
A sedan with a shattered windshield and a hole on the driver's side was found at the scene. It was unclear whether the driver remained at the location or whether investigators are treating the crash as a hit-and-run.
The victim has not been identified. Investigators were still at the scene as of Thursday morning, and motorists were urged to avoid the area.
This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.
When a driver's identity and account are not yet known, families are often left waiting on the investigation to move forward before they understand what happened.
A pedestrian struck outside a marked crosswalk, or under unclear circumstances, does not automatically lose the right to recover. California follows a pure comparative fault standard, meaning a family may still recover compensation even if the victim shares some responsibility. Wrongful death claims in California must generally be filed within two years of the date of death (CCP 377.60). For this crash, that deadline is September 2, 2028.
Not knowing who your loved one was to the world, or who struck them, on top of losing them, is its own kind of unbearable.
Our Los Angeles pedestrian accident attorneys have recovered more than $200 million for families across Southern California, including cases where the driver was never identified at the scene.
If this turns out to be a hit-and-run, nearby home security cameras and traffic cameras along Quinn Circle and the surrounding streets are worth preserving now, before that footage is overwritten.
There is no upfront cost to speak with us, and nothing owed unless we recover for your family.
