Vernon, CA - Car Wedged Under Semi-Truck Trailer at Soto and Fruitland

Vernon, CA (September 25, 2026) - A car became wedged underneath a semi-truck trailer Friday morning in a crash at the corner of Soto Street and Fruitland Avenue in Vernon.

The collision was reported just before 11 a.m.

Police have not confirmed how many people were inside the car or their condition. It does appear that whoever was inside was freed and transported from the scene before news crews arrived overhead just before 2 p.m.

Soto Street between Fruitland Avenue and 50th Street remained shut down as crews worked to free the vehicle from underneath the trailer.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
