South Los Angeles, CA (September 13, 2026) - A crash involving a Los Angeles Fire Department fire truck, a fire engine, and other vehicles injured seven people in the Vermont Vista neighborhood of South Los Angeles. LAFD officials confirmed the injuries in a news release.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. in the 11900 block of South Figueroa Street. LAFD said the fire truck and engine were involved in a traffic accident that left one person needing extrication from a vehicle.

All seven people, including one LAFD member, were assessed at the scene before being taken to local hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately known.

LAFD requested help from the Department of Transportation for traffic control while the Los Angeles Police Department began investigating the cause of the collision. No cause has been released.
