South Los Angeles, CA - Family Hurt When Pickup Truck Rear-Ends Their Parked Taco Truck on Central Avenue

South Los Angeles, California (August 6, 2026) - A family of three was injured when a pickup truck slammed into the back of their parked taco truck along Central Avenue near 84th Street, badly damaging the business and leaving them without their main source of income.

The crash happened during the evening of August 6, while Jose Silva, his mother, and his stepfather were inside the Tacos Villa truck preparing to close for the night. Silva said the impact pushed the trailer roughly 40 feet and threw his mother out of the cab, landing her six to seven feet from the vehicle.

Silva said he is still recovering from cuts and bruises from the crash. His mother and stepfather were also hurt. All three are recovering at home.
