Panorama City, CA - Car-Hauling Semi-Truck Crashes Into Apartment Building, One Hospitalized

Panorama City, California (August 4, 2026) - Just after 2:19 p.m., a semi-truck hauling a load of vehicles crashed through the front entrance of a two-story apartment building on the 8900 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The Los Angeles Police Department said the driver suffered a medical emergency while heading southbound on Van Nuys Boulevard near Osborne Street. The truck jumped the curb, struck roughly five parked cars, and crashed into the building's entrance.

Firefighters evaluated the driver at the scene on the afternoon of August 4. One other person was taken to the hospital following the crash. Their condition has not been released.

The gas company, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, and the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety were all notified to assess the damage.
