Pedestrian Accidents in Los Angeles

Pedestrian accidents in Los Angeles frequently result in severe injuries or fatalities, particularly during nighttime hours and at busy intersections. Under California law, individuals injured due to another party’s negligence may have the right to pursue compensation through a personal injury claim. When a pedestrian collision results in death, certain surviving family members may be eligible to pursue a wrongful death claim.

Depending on the facts of the case, recoverable damages may include medical expenses, funeral costs, lost financial support, and loss of companionship, as permitted by law.

California imposes strict deadlines on legal claims. In most cases, personal injury and wrongful death actions must be filed within two years from the date of injury or death. Failing to meet these deadlines may result in the loss of the right to pursue compensation.
