Los Angeles, CA (September 7, 2026) - A three-car crash on the southbound 110 Freeway left one person dead and four others hospitalized on Labor Day night. The crash happened at about 8:10 p.m. near the interchange with the 105 Freeway, in the Broadway-Manchester area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The person killed was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

Four other people were taken to local hospitals with injuries, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. A witness told the California Highway Patrol that a white sedan overturned several times during the collision. All southbound lanes were affected as crews worked the scene into the night on September 7.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

Car Accident Claims After a Multi-Vehicle Crash on the 110 Freeway

Acting quickly after a freeway pileup protects both health and any future claim. What families and injured drivers should know:

  • See a doctor right away, even if injuries do not seem severe at first
  • Do not give a statement to another driver's insurance company before speaking with an attorney
  • Preserve dashcam footage, photos of vehicle damage, and CHP incident numbers before they are harder to obtain
  • Do not accept a settlement offer before understanding the full extent of injuries

Because the cause of this crash is still under investigation, fault has not been determined. California follows a pure comparative fault rule, meaning a driver found partially responsible can still recover damages for the share of fault that belongs to someone else. Personal injury claims in California must generally be filed within two years of the crash date (CCP 335.1), which is September 7, 2028, for this collision. A wrongful death claim on behalf of the person killed must generally be filed within the same two-year window (CCP 377.60), also by September 7, 2028.
