Car Accidents in Los Angeles: Legal Rights and Compensation

Freeway accidents in Los Angeles frequently result in serious injuries and fatalities due to high traffic volumes and highway speeds. Under California law, individuals injured as a result of another driver’s negligence may have the right to pursue compensation through a personal injury claim.

Recoverable damages may include medical expenses, lost wages, future care costs, reduced earning capacity, and pain and suffering, depending on the facts of the case.

When a collision results in death, certain surviving family members may be eligible to pursue a wrongful death claim. These claims may seek compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and loss of companionship, as permitted by law.

California imposes strict deadlines on legal claims. In most cases, personal injury and wrongful death actions must be filed within two years from the date of injury or death. Missing these deadlines may result in the loss of the right to pursue compensation.
