Hyde Park, Los Angeles (July 10, 2026) - Two men died and a young girl was critically injured after a high-speed multi-vehicle crash on Crenshaw Boulevard on Friday morning, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

The collision happened around 10:45 a.m. on July 10, 2026, in the 7700 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, near South Victoria Avenue in South Los Angeles. According to LAPD and witness accounts, a Toyota was attempting to make a left turn when it was struck by a black BMW. A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.

The male driver and a male passenger inside one of the vehicles died at the scene. A young girl riding in the back seat survived the initial impact with critical injuries. Bystanders pulled the child from the vehicle and handed her to arriving paramedics, who transported her to a local hospital. The identities of the two men who died are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.

Investigators said driving under the influence does not appear to be a factor, but that excessive speed likely played a major role. Witnesses described the BMW traveling northbound at more than 100 miles per hour before the impact.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

A family that sent a child out that morning is now sitting in a hospital waiting room instead, not knowing what comes next for either of the men they lost.

Fatal Car Accidents in Los Angeles, California

A high-speed collision involving three vehicles at an intersection creates a liability picture that depends heavily on what investigators find.

  • Who may be liable: the driver of the vehicle traveling at excessive speed, and potentially other parties depending on how the third vehicle became involved
  • What investigators examine: speed data, traffic signal timing, and the sequence of impact between all three vehicles
  • Comparative negligence: even if the Toyota's left turn is found to have contributed to the crash, California's pure comparative fault rule means the family can still recover damages reduced by any share of fault

Wrongful death claims in California must generally be filed within two years of the date of death (CCP 377.60). This crash occurred on July 10, 2026, so that deadline is July 10, 2028.
