A driver crashed into a salon on Edinger Avenue in Huntington Beach on August 12, 2026, injuring a person inside, according to police.

Huntington Beach, California (August 12, 2026) - A driver crashed into a salon on Edinger Avenue in Huntington Beach on Wednesday afternoon, injuring a person inside the business, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. in the 6000 block of Edinger Avenue. Officers arrived to find a black sedan had driven through the front window of the salon, located next to DeSimone Deli & Bakery.
Police said the driver, identified only as a man in his 70s, told officers he accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The car accelerated into the building and struck someone inside.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Huntington Beach Building Department staff and the fire department's Urban Search and Rescue team responded and determined the building was safe to remain open, with only minimal structural damage.
Police said no arrests had been made as of Wednesday evening and that the crash appeared to be accidental. This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.
When a car crashes into a business, the driver is almost always the starting point for liability. A pedal-confusion crash like this one is treated as ordinary driver negligence, not a mechanical failure or a road hazard.
Getting hurt while you're inside a business, doing something completely ordinary, leaves you dealing with medical bills for an incident you had no part in causing.
Our Huntington Beach personal injury attorneys handle cases where a driver's negligence turns a business into the scene of a crash, and we've recovered more than $200 million for injured clients across Southern California.
The footage that shows exactly what happened, dashcam video, store surveillance, the sedan's own data recorder, is worth preserving now, before it's erased or the car gets fixed.
We work on contingency, so there's no upfront cost and nothing owed unless we win your case.
