Hollywood Hills, CA (August 23, 2026) - Four vehicles collided on Cahuenga Boulevard in the Hollywood Hills Sunday evening, sending at least one person to the hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters and paramedics responded around 6 p.m. to the 2800 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard, between Barham Boulevard and the Hollywood Bowl, LAFD said.

Four patients were evaluated at the scene. At least one was transported to a hospital for treatment, and LAFD said additional patients could still be taken for care.

The severity of the injuries was not immediately available.

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation was called in to close a stretch of Cahuenga Boulevard for an estimated one to two hours while crews cleared the scene. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Los Angeles, California

When several vehicles collide in a chain-reaction crash, more than one driver can share responsibility.

  • Who may be liable: a driver who followed too closely, made an unsafe lane change, or failed to stop in time
  • What investigators examine: speed, following distance, road conditions, and how the impact moved between vehicles
  • Why fault gets complicated: in a four-car crash, liability can shift depending on who struck whom first

California follows a pure comparative negligence rule, so an injured driver can still recover damages even if they're found partly at fault.

Personal injury claims must generally be filed within two years of the date of the crash (CCP 335.1). For this crash, that deadline is August 23, 2028.
