A driver was injured after a vehicle went over a bridge and landed on the eastbound 134 Freeway in Glendale on October 30, the CHP said.

Glendale, CA (October 30, 2026) - A vehicle went over a bridge and landed on the eastbound 134 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A call reporting the crash on the eastbound 134 Freeway in Glendale came in around 2:40 a.m. on October 30. The CHP said the vehicle struck a curb, then a fence, before going over the bridge. Video from the scene showed the vehicle overturned and facing the wrong direction on the freeway.
The driver was injured and taken from the scene, the CHP said. Authorities did not immediately provide information on the driver's condition. It is not yet clear what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
A SigAlert was issued for the eastbound 134 Freeway west of Victory Boulevard, and three lanes were closed at one point. The closures lasted for hours, and all lanes have since reopened. A tow truck and firefighters responded as crews cleared the roadway.
This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.
NHTSA reported 21,224 traffic deaths in single-vehicle crashes across the United States in 2024. After a vehicle leaves the road, investigators often examine the curb, fence, and bridge barrier, along with lighting, signage, and the vehicle itself. The reports so far do not say what led the vehicle off the road, so no cause should be assumed.
If a public agency's road or structure contributed, the claim runs on a much shorter clock than an ordinary injury case. These claims generally require proof that the condition was dangerous and the agency had notice of it.
