Downtown Los Angeles, CA - Driver Killed After SUV Plunges Through Guardrail on Grand Avenue

Downtown Los Angeles, CA (September 11, 2026) - A man in his 30s died early Friday after his SUV crashed through a guardrail on Upper Grand Avenue and plunged onto the street below, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The crash was reported around 2:30 a.m. near the 350 block of South Grand Avenue. The vehicle, described by authorities as possibly a Mercedes SUV, fell an estimated 40 to 50 feet from the upper roadway to Lower Grand Avenue, landing upside down.
