A 29-year-old man faces felony charges in a September 30, 2026 Culver City hit-and-run that critically injured a pedestrian on National Boulevard.

Culver City, CA (October 21, 2026) - A 29-year-old Los Angeles man has been arrested and now faces felony charges in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian critically injured in Culver City, according to the Culver City Police Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
The crash happened at about 7:04 p.m. on September 30 at National Boulevard and Wesley Avenue. Police said the driver hit a male pedestrian and sped away without stopping to check on him. The pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was in critical condition.
Police said the driver fled southbound on National Boulevard and then westbound on Schaefer Street. Automated license plate reader technology helped investigators identify the vehicle. Police arrested the man on October 19 on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing great bodily injury, a charge cited under Vehicle Code section 20001(a). Prosecutors filed felony charges on October 21.
A criminal charge is an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.
Police cited Vehicle Code section 20001(a), which requires a driver in a crash that injures someone to stop at the scene. California's minimum liability coverage is only $30,000 per injured person, according to the DMV.
The driver, first. If the car belonged to someone else or the driver was working, an owner or employer may share responsibility, depending on the facts.
The claim is separate. A criminal case seeks punishment, while a civil claim seeks payment for medical bills, lost income and pain.
Your own uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage may apply, even if you were on foot. Check your policy and report the crash to your insurer promptly.
Get medical care and keep every record. Save the clothing worn, note nearby cameras since footage is overwritten quickly, and ask police for the report number.
Two years from the crash under Code of Civil Procedure section 335.1, which here means September 30, 2028. Waiting can cost evidence much sooner.
