Compton, CA - Two Vehicles Struck as Deputies' Pursuit of a Stolen Car Ends in Crash on Santa Fe Avenue

Compton, CA (August 3, 2026) - A pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle ended in a crash that struck two other cars near the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Myrrh Street in Compton, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies attempted to pull over the stolen car near Alondra Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue around 2:25 p.m. on August 3. The driver sped away and made it about two blocks before crashing into two other vehicles at the Myrrh Street intersection, the department said.

Aerial footage from the scene showed major damage to the vehicles involved. One person was taken into custody following the crash, according to the Sheriff's Department. The extent of any injuries has not been released.
