Adelanto, California - Five Hospitalized After Five-Vehicle Crash Involving Ambulance on Highway 395

Adelanto, California (August 15, 2026) - Five people were hospitalized after a crash involving five vehicles, including an ambulance, at the intersection of US Highway 395 and Auburn Avenue, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The crash happened Saturday night at around 9:15 p.m. Eight people in total were inside the five vehicles.

Five of the eight were taken to a local hospital for varying levels of care, deputies said. The ambulance, operated by American Medical Response, was struck while responding to a call, though its crew began treating the injured at the scene despite being involved in the collision themselves.

Deputies have not released a cause. The investigation remains open.
